Skills

Like in all sports, there are specific skills that apply to Volleyball. The six most important skills are the serve, the forearm pass, the overhead pass , the attack, the block and the digging.

1-Serve: Action done with arm swing that sends the ball over the net. It is used to start a play.



2-Forearm pass: Action where you touch the ball with your forearms. Your hands just be held tightly and your palms and thumbs should be together. It is used to received the ball.



3-Overhead pass: Action of receiving the ball over your forehead with your hands open , forming a triangle. It is used to pass the ball to an attacker.



4-Attack: Action of approaching the ball quickly and then hitting it over the net. It is used to be the ball into the opponent court and to win a point.



5-Block: Action of stopping the ball with your hands , deflecting it back into the opponent's court.



6-Digging: It looks just like a forearm pass, but from a low and ready position. It is used to receive the opponent's attack.
